Disabling and enabling scanner agents
Managing scanner agents is critical to optimizing the performance and efficiency of your scanning operations in Invicti Enterprise. Disabling scanner agents can be useful for temporary troubleshooting, resource allocation, or maintenance purposes while enabling them ensures they are available to handle scan tasks as needed.
This document provides step-by-step instructions on how to disable and enable scanner agents within Invicti Enterprise, ensuring seamless control and minimizing downtime during these operations.
IMPORTANT: Once a scan agent is disabled, it must be manually enabled by logging in to the agent's server and starting the service. Follow the instructions below to complete this process. |
How to disable the scanner agent
- Select Agents > Manage Agents from the left-side menu.
- Locate the agent you would like to disable and click the Disable button on the far right.
- A warning message appears to inform you that you are about to disable the agent.
- Confirm this action, by clicking Yes, disable. Or abort, by selecting No.
- A pop-up message appears to confirm this.
The agent is now disabled. You can verify this by checking the agent state on the Manage Agents page or in the Services.
How to enable the scanner agent
- Select Agents > Manage Agents from the left-side menu.
- Locate the agent you would like to disable and click the Enable button on the far right.
- A warning message appears to inform you that you are about to enable the agent.
- Confirm this action, by clicking Yes, enable. Or abort, by selecting No.
- A pop-up message appears to confirm this.
- Disabling the agent in the UI stops the service. Open the Services where the agent is installed, locate the agent, and click Start the service.
The agent is now available. You can verify this by checking the agent state on the Manage Agents page or in the Services.
